On a recent Saturday I ventured over to Point of Rocks Maryland to get out of the house and hopefully catch some action along the tracks. These images were taken April 29, 2023.
I heard a few trains around the area on the scanner app, but only a few trains made it through during that time which, in my experience, was better than I was anticipating for the middle of the day on a Saturday.
Starting out, getting the camera dialed in with the RF 35mm, I grabbed a shot of the station followed by the yellow nose of the CSX ES44AC-H passing the station.
As time went on, this train had a DPU running in the center.
After M217-29 passed, a spray crew was on track 2 and left the track at the crossing.
A little time later a light engine move came through leading to one of my favorite shots of the day, the Featured Image on the post.
As I was about to leave I heard P029 come on the radio and quickly jumped out and grabbed it as it moved across the switches.
