This Capitals team has me believing.

For many like me there has been a reticence to jump all-in on this team. History has made it difficult to have faith. I have kept my commentary on social media during the games, and for the last few weeks relatively quiet outside of the ups and downs of the series. I have this very superstitious vibe about the Capitals. That being said, there has been something different when watching the Capitals this postseason. The blend of physicality, speed, and determination have made this an amazing playoff run and has me feeling hat there is definitely something different going on. For the last 10 years I cannot remember more resiliency, determination, and grit. There is a never let up, never quit feeling.
When Game 7 was getting into the latter part of the third and the Caps were up 3-0, I was feeling relief and excitement. When Bäckström tipped in the Empty Netter I felt like Ricky Bobby, I didn’t know how to feel or what to do. I was excited, but I don’t know what it feels like to have a team get to the point where they are competing for the Championship.

It has been 20 Years since a DC Sports team has competed for their respective sport’s championship, 26 since the last win. I am excited. I am all in with the Capitals at this point. While I have stayed silent on it, I have had this feeling since the Game 6 win in Pittsburgh. I am definitely looking forward to Memorial Day to kick off the Stanley Cup Final.
Let’s Go Caps!
